Gregson Gastar
Gregson Gastar, salon owner and manager, holds many accolades in the hairdressing industry, as an experienced and successful stylist. Gregson has won awards such as National Senior Stylist of the Year, L'oréal Colour Trophy winner in Queensland Mens division, and National Men's Image of the Year. He has been a compere as well as cut hair on stage at Sydney's Hair Expo, and has previously worked in and owned a franchise of an international hairdressing giant.
Gregson's passion for wearable, flattering looks, combined with his knowledge and expertise in his field is obvious in his work. Gregson's work has been published in local and national magazines such as New Idea, Instyle and Marie Claire, and he has also worked with a few Aussie celebrities.
Another of Gregson's artistic talents is photography. He has taken all the fashion images featured on this website, and is the sole photographer in all of Gastar Hair's photo shoots, collections and competition entries. Gregson is now also Keune's educator on the Gold Coast. Chosen for his hairdressing expertise, photographic skills and fine representation of the Keune brand, in 2011 Gregson was selected for the role of educating hairdressers from Gold Coast and New South Wales on Men's fashion cutting and portraying iconic images on camera.
Lauren Mitchell
Joining Gastar Hair as a budding apprentice, Lauren was quick to grasp the latest in styling techniques and procedures through ongoing training, development and commitment to her goals. Lauren's keen eye for colour in her apprenticeship did not go unnoticed, as in 2010 she won the Estetica Editorial Award which granted Lauren's winning work a special feature in an international magazine. Recognition for her talent only got better when in the same breath Lauren was awarded Keune's National Colour Apprentice of the Year for 2010! This national title granted her specialised colour training abroad at the Keune headquarters in Amsterdam.
Upon her return, having completed her apprenticeship with flying colours, Lauren was ready and roaring to start the next chapter of her hairdressing career.
Now as Gastar Hair's Senior Stylist, with her colour and styling techniques evolving to new heights, Lauren has an ever-growing clientele of her own!
Carla Myles
Carla is a fabulous super stylist, who is highly trained and experienced in colouring and cutting. Coming from a boutique salon in Coolangatta and Salt, Carla has been taken under Gregson's wing as one of Gastar Hair's Senior Stylists. Personally re-trained by Gregson to blend his signature style with Carla's own creative flair, Gastar Hair is very proud and thankful to have her part of our successful and talented team!
Like all the staff at Gastar Hair we pride ourselves on attention to detail and offering clients wearable hair with the help of recommended professional quality products. Carla has a wealth of knowledge in these areas along with her natural innate abilities as a creative stylist.
Dan Payne
Since childhood, Dan has held a passion for hair. Finally he has the opportunity to share his passion and develop it into a new career, being Gastar Hair's newest apprentice. Dan comes from a background of marketing, promotions and hospitality work. With a fun loving personality and wickedly infectious smile, it's not hard to feel happy being around our new man. Dan's keen desire to make his mark in the hairdressing industry is equally matched by Gastar Hair's determination to support it.
And now, after Dan's commitment to excellence in his ongoing training and development with Gastar Hair, Dan has the opportunity to taste the fruits of his labour with his current finalist nomination for AHFA Australian Apprentice of the Year for 2012! Watch this space!!!
